Mulching & Wood Chipping Werribee
On-site chipping of branches and prunings across Werribee, plus bulk mulch delivery by the cubic metre for new gardens and landscaping out across the plains.
Most Werribee customers find us one of two ways, either with a heap of branches they've cut and now can't shift, or with a new garden that needs cubic metres of mulch dropped on the block. The chipper handles the first, the tipper handles the second, and we can do both in one visit if it suits.
For on-site chipping we bring the machine to your address and run anything up to about 200mm through it. That covers prunings off a DIY weekend, branches from a limb down after a blow, or the green waste left after a paddock tidy-up. The chip stays as a heap on your block to use, or we load it back into the truck and take it away. Either way it beats trailer runs to the transfer station.
For bulk mulch we stock three main lines, fresh hardwood chip off our own removals, good for paths, weed control and around established trees, aged composted mulch broken down enough for garden beds and new plantings, and a dyed landscape mulch in red or black for formal jobs where the look matters. Order by the cubic metre, delivered to the driveway across Werribee and out across the plains. We can add spreading if you'd rather not barrow it yourself, which suits the new estate gardens going in across the corridor.

Why Werribee chooses us
A local crew you can actually trust with the job
- Qualified, insured crews The crew is trained to read a tree before cutting it, the lean, where rot sits in the trunk, how the species drops under load. That judgement decides whether yours is felled whole, climbed or craned.. Ask for the Certificate of Currency and we hand it over before a saw starts. If a limb marks a fence or a parked car, that cover carries it, not your home policy., so you're covered on every job.
- Genuinely local We work these estates and the older streets every week, so we already know the tight gates, the soft fill and what a westerly does to a tall gum before we get out of the ute.
- Clear written quotes Ring in the morning and you will usually have a price before dinner. Storm damage and dangerous leaners jump the queue whatever the day., itemised and fixed before we start. The price we quote is the price you pay.
- Safe, tidy work Every cut lands at the branch collar so the wound seals instead of rotting back into the trunk. No topping and no stubs, because both come back to bite a gum a few summers on.
- There when it counts The chipper and stump grinder both fit a 900mm estate side gate, so a backyard job does not mean pulling out a fence panel. On open blocks the loader does the carrying and the day runs shorter.

How big a branch can the chipper take?
Up to around 200mm clean through, which covers most prunings and storm wood. Anything bigger we cut into chunks first, then put the smaller pieces through. Trunk wood thicker than that usually gets cut into rounds and either left for firewood or quoted as a haulage line if you want it gone.
What's the difference between fresh and aged mulch?
Fresh chip comes straight off the chipper after a removal, mostly hardwood, holds moisture and locks weeds down, which is handy on the dry open blocks out here. It suits paths and established trees. Aged mulch has spent months in a heap breaking down, so it's softer and darker and gentle enough for garden beds and new plantings where fresh chip would briefly pull nitrogen out of the soil.
How much mulch do I need to order?
For a 75 to 100mm layer over a bed, one cubic metre covers roughly 10 to 13 square metres. Measure the bed in metres, multiply length by width, then divide by about 11 for a rough cubic-metre figure. Ring the dimensions through when you order and we'll work it out together so you don't end up with half a load spare.
Can the mulch be delivered and spread in Werribee?
Yes, both. A tipper drop is the default, the truck backs up the driveway and tips the load where it can sit. If barrowing isn't on the cards, add the spreading line to the quote and the crew rakes the mulch out across your beds before they leave. Works well for bigger jobs and brand-new estate gardens.
